How to Remove Unwanted Cuts in Cricut Design Space with the Weld Tool
Do you ever purchase a file that just isn’t exactly what you wanted? A customer recently asked me if she could get my 3D cactus file without the slits (the slits are so you can slide the two together to make them 3D). I started to set it up for her when I realized I could teach her how to do it in Cricut Design Space!
First, add a shape by clicking “Shapes” on the left side bar.
With your new shape selected, click the lock icon in the Size tool at the top of your screen. If the Size option isn’t on your screen, hover your cursor over the right side of your screen until a double-sided arrow appears. Drag it to the right to widen your screen and the option should appear. Once the shape is unlocked, you can drag it into a rectangle to cover the slits. Make a shape for each element that you’d like to delete.
Once all shapes are in place, select all layers and click Weld in the bottom right corner.
And there you have it. Hooray!
